The Peak Matterhorn is a three-person indoor
infrared sauna for buyers who want the roomiest cabin in Peak’s
Shasta–Fuji–Matterhorn lineup. It combines full-spectrum infrared heat,
two full-body red-light panels, Wi-Fi app control, and premium Canadian
red cedar in a 61-by-44-inch footprint.
Peak currently lists the Matterhorn for $10,750,
with free freight delivery in the continental United States. The
purchase price is only part of the planning: this 400-pound cabin
requires a dedicated 240V/20A circuit and professional electrical
installation.

Quick verdict
The Matterhorn is best for a household that genuinely needs room for
three people or wants a wider shared bench for one or two users. Its red
cedar construction, dual red-light panels, eight full-spectrum heaters,
app controls, and 57-inch-wide interior make it the most expansive of
the three Peak cabins we have reviewed.
Its biggest tradeoff is installation. The dedicated 240V circuit
makes the Matterhorn a planned home improvement rather than a simple
appliance purchase. Before ordering, buyers should confirm the room,
delivery route, electrician’s scope, receptacle location, and total
project cost.

Three-person
capacity: how much room do you get?
The Matterhorn’s interior is 57 inches wide, 40 inches deep, and 67
inches high. It offers eight more inches of interior width than the
two-person Fuji. That makes the bench more flexible for three seated
users or a roomier experience for a couple.
Three-person labeling is still not a universal comfort guarantee.
Shoulder width, body size, preferred posture, and session length will
determine whether three adults feel relaxed or closely seated. Compare
the 57-inch bench width with furniture in your home before buying.
If most sessions will involve only one person, the Matterhorn may be
more cabin and electrical work than necessary. The Shasta or Fuji could
deliver the same core features with a smaller footprint and lower total
project cost.
The dedicated 240V
requirement
Peak specifies 240V, 20A, and 2,850 watts for the Matterhorn, using a
NEMA 6-20P connection. A dedicated 240V circuit is required, and Peak
states that an electrician is needed.
Have a licensed electrician review the intended room before ordering.
The electrician should confirm panel capacity, breaker and wire
requirements, receptacle type, outlet location, code compliance, and
permit needs in your area. Installation cost will vary with the
electrical panel, cable route, wall access, and local labor rates.
Do not use an adapter, extension cord, or improvised connection. Our
infrared
sauna electrical requirements guide explains why a 240V sauna needs
more planning than the Shasta’s standard 15-amp plug or the Fuji’s
dedicated 20-amp circuit.
Full-spectrum
infrared and dual red-light panels
The Matterhorn uses eight heating panels combining carbon
far-infrared panels with halogen and quartz emitters. Peak lists near-,
mid-, and far-infrared wavelengths and a maximum cabin temperature of up
to 150°F.
Two full-body red-light panels are installed on the front wall,
compared with one panel in the Shasta and Fuji. Peak lists eight
wavelengths and app-based programs. Buyers should treat these as
wellness features rather than medical treatment. Anyone with a health
condition, taking medication, pregnant, or uncertain about heat or light
exposure should seek appropriate professional guidance before use.
Controls and comfort
features
The Matterhorn can be controlled through touchscreens inside and
outside the cabin or through Peak’s Wi-Fi app for iOS and Android.
Remote starting and scheduling can make preheating easier.
Other features include two Bluetooth speakers, chromotherapy
lighting, an oxygen-ionization system, and a foot heater. These
additions create a more polished experience, but the core decision
should still rest on usable interior space, electrical readiness, heat
performance, and expected frequency of use.
Red cedar construction
Peak builds the Matterhorn with premium Canadian red cedar. Cedar
provides a rich color, varied grain, and noticeable natural aroma. It
creates a warmer visual statement than a pale hemlock cabin and may suit
an organic-modern wellness room.
Natural grain and color variation should be expected. Buyers
sensitive to cedar aroma should consider how the cabin will affect a
bedroom, office, gym, or other frequently occupied room.
Size and room planning
The 61-by-44-inch exterior footprint does not include every clearance
needed for installation and ownership. Allow space for the door swing,
assembly, ventilation requirements in the manual, access to the
dedicated receptacle, and future servicing.
Measure the complete delivery path: driveway, exterior doors,
hallways, staircases, elevators, corners, and ceiling height. The
assembled weight is 400 pounds, and individual panels may still require
two people to move safely.
Peak identifies the Matterhorn as an indoor sauna. Do not assume it
is approved for a patio, damp garage, unconditioned outbuilding, or
exposed outdoor location.

buying guide.
Delivery and assembly
Peak currently includes free freight delivery within the continental
United States. The Matterhorn ships in a protective crate. Curbside
delivery normally does not include carrying panels into the home,
assembling the cabin, removing packaging, or coordinating with an
electrician.
Plan where the crate can be placed, who will move the components, and
how packaging will be discarded. Inspect the shipment according to
Peak’s current delivery instructions before accepting it.
The cabin uses clasp-together panel construction. Peak states that
two adults can typically complete assembly in one to two hours with
minimal tools. Budget extra time for uncrating, confirming the parts,
moving panels, reviewing the manual, and checking that the electrical
work is ready.
Total project cost
The $10,750 product price is not necessarily the final installed
cost. Your project budget may also need to include:
- licensed electrical work and possible permits;
- help moving panels from the curb to the room;
- floor or room preparation;
- packaging disposal; and
- accessories or protective flooring approved for the space.
Obtain an electrical estimate before ordering if budget certainty
matters. The Matterhorn’s 240V requirement can make its installed price
meaningfully higher than the Fuji or Shasta.
Warranty and ownership
Peak’s written residential warranty gives seven years of coverage to heating elements and the cabinetry and wood structure; three years to controls, power supply and red-light panels; and one year to lighting, sound, accessories and Wi-Fi/app connectivity. Labor and some shipping costs are excluded. Coverage is non-transferable and subject to the full policy. Lifetime U.S.-based support is separate from parts coverage. Read Peak’s current warranty terms before purchasing.
Care should follow the owner’s manual. Use towels to protect the
bench, allow the cabin to dry after sessions, and avoid unapproved
chemicals on the cedar, electronics, heating panels, and red-light
equipment.
Matterhorn versus Fuji or
Shasta
The three models serve different installation needs:
- Shasta: one person, 42 × 40 inches, standard
120V/15A connection. - Fuji: two people, 53 × 44 inches, dedicated
120V/20A circuit. - Matterhorn: three people, 61 × 44 inches, dedicated
240V/20A circuit.
Choose the Matterhorn when its wider bench and three-person capacity
justify the higher price, larger footprint, and electrical work. Choose
the Fuji for shared use with a smaller cabin and 120V service. Choose
the Shasta when solo use and easier placement are the priorities.

Who should buy the Peak
Matterhorn?
The Matterhorn makes the most sense if you:
- expect up to three people to use the sauna together;
- want a wide shared bench and two red-light panels;
- prefer the appearance and aroma of Canadian red cedar;
- can install a dedicated 240V/20A circuit; and
- have a clear freight, moving, electrical, and assembly plan.
It may not be the right choice if sessions will usually be solo, you
cannot add 240V service, the delivery route is tight, or you want to
minimize total installation cost.
Final thoughts
The Peak Matterhorn offers the most space and the most extensive
red-light setup in this three-model Peak lineup. For a household that
will use the wider cabin frequently, its three-person bench, red cedar
construction, full-spectrum heat, dual red-light panels, and app
controls form a compelling premium package.
The key is to treat it as a home project, not merely a product order.
Confirm the room, freight path, professional electrical work, written
warranty, and realistic installed cost before committing $10,750.
